Job SummaryAs an Autism Support Professional // Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will work one-on-one with children, using ABA techniques to help them achieve their goals. These goals may include improving communication, social skills, self-care, or managing challenging behaviors. You will implement programs designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will guide you. ABA focuses on making learning fun and meaningful through play, activities, and positive interactions.
It is a rewarding field where you will see children gain confidence, independence, and a better quality of life.
Responsibilities- Implement ABA therapy programs designed by a BCBA to support skill development in areas such as communication, social skills, self-help, and play
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors and create a engaging learning environment
- Implement behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive change
- Collect and record accurate data on the child's progress during each session
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to provide progress updates and strategies to support the child outside of therapy
- Collaborate with BCBAs, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other team members for coordinated care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children during therapy sessions by following safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development to maintain high-quality care
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality
- Passion for working with children and helping them succeed
- Dependability and availability for scheduled shifts, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional Saturdays
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Patience, creativity, and a sense of humor to make learning engaging
- Attention to detail for accurate data collection
- Excellent communication skills to share progress with the team and families
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- A genuine passion for working with children with autism and a commitment to making a positive impact
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience with children with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable; we will consider any experience working with children (e.g., teachers, SPED professionals, babysitters, daycare workers, coaches, parents)
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to therapy locations
- Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional Saturdays
- Successful completion of a background check and any required screenings
- Walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
