We’re partnering with a growing, private equity‑backed financial technology company in Nashville that is hiring its first dedicated Controller.
This is a high‑impact opportunity to build and formalize the accounting function for a profitable, established business entering its next phase of growth. The company serves large enterprise clients in the financial services space and is investing in infrastructure, systems, and leadership.

The OpportunityThis will be the sole accounting hire, reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with the executive team. The organization is seeking a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves leader who can both manage day‑to‑day accounting and build scalable financial processes.
The Board is seeking greater financial visibility and reporting cadence, making this a highly visible role with direct exposure to ownership.
What You’ll OwnLead month‑end close and financial statement preparation
Establish structured close timelines and reporting cadence
Prepare and present board reporting packages
Partner on budgeting and variance analysis
Oversee payroll and day‑to‑day accounting operations
Optimize and clean up Quick Books
Support system implementations
Manage invoicing and revenue share calculations
Evaluate state tax nexus work currently outsourced
5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Prior accounting leadership experience preferred
Strong technical accounting skills
Experience building or improving accounting processes
Comfortable operating as a standalone accounting leader
Confident communicator with executive and board presence
Quick Books experience
Fintech or financial services experience is a plus, but not required
