Controller - Construction

We’re partnered with an established, owner-led contracting company specializing in exterior, project-based work and investing in its next phase of financial leadership.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work, understands how money actually moves through a contracting business, and wants real ownership in a straightforward, hands-on environment.

• Own day-to-day accounting and financial oversight for a project-based contracting operation
• Manage job costing, margins, and WIP
  , and help leadership understand performance by project
• Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and cash flow tracking
• Work closely with operations to keep financials aligned with what’s happening in the field
• Improve visibility into costs, labor, and profitability as the business grows
• Help evolve systems and processes thoughtfully as the company scales
• Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

• Experience in construction, contracting, or project-based businesses
• Strong understanding of job costing and WIP
• Comfortable operating as the primary finance leader
• Experience with accounting systems and Excel

• You’ll have visibility into project profitability, cash flow, and overall business performance
• Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and understanding project and company performance
• Comfortable operating independently while coordinating closely with ownership and operations
• Direct access to ownership and real influence on decisions
• A stable, growing contracting business
