The Staff Accountant will support the Vice President of Finance by managing day-to-day accounting functions and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting support, vendor management, and assisting with tax-related filings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling multiple accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and coordination with external tax advisors or CPAs
- Manage vendor relationships, including setup, documentation, and payment inquiries
- Prepare financial models for investor communications
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking as needed
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with audits and financial reviews
- Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years’ accounting experience at a “Big Four” firm preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with Quick Books and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with finance leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience supporting senior finance leadership or working in a growing organization
- Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments
