This is a full-time, on-site Controller role based in Nashville TN. The Controller will be responsible for:

• Lead full-cycle accounting:
  Manage month-end/year-end close, general ledger, revenue recognition (critical for SaaS: ASC 606, deferred revenue, subscriptions), AR/AP, payroll, and cash management.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and management reporting packages with variance analysis.
• Oversee billing, collections, and revenue operations in a subscription-based SaaS model.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, compliance with GAAP, and support for SOC 2 requirements.
• Manage tax compliance (federal, state, sales tax nexus in multi-state SaaS operations), coordinate external audits/tax filings, and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking (MRR/ARR, churn, GRR, NRR, CAC, etc.), and financial modeling to support growth initiatives.
• Implement and optimize financial systems/tools (ERP, billing platforms, expense management) to scale with the business.
• Manage a small but growing remote finance/accounting team as the company expands.
• Provide strategic insights to executive team on financial health, cash flow optimization, and investment decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience;
  SaaS/tech/software industry experience highly desired (familiarity with subscription revenue models a big plus).
• Proven track record in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments (startup or mid-stage SaaS preferred).
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and multi-state tax compliance.
• Experience with financial systems (QBO, Hub Spot, Stripe billing tools like Stripe).
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency; experience building financial models and forecasts.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to collaborate across operations, sales, and executive teams.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset—comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a lean team.
