Accounting Analyst

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a solid background in financial operations. The role will involve handling various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting business processes within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory and receiving transactions within the accounting system.

- Close and document aged work orders, ensuring proper records are maintained.

- Manage price updates, trade agreements, and related financial adjustments.

- Reconcile banking and cash transactions, addressing any inconsistencies found.

- Handle customer and vendor settlements, including aging account cleanup efforts.

- Identify and correct settlement variances while adhering to financial policies.

- Support business account reconciliations and implement necessary adjustments.

- Assess and process bad debt write-offs in compliance with approval guidelines.

- Execute testing scenarios and document findings to ensure financial workflows operate correctly.

- Conduct post-release validations to confirm accurate system performance and financial transactions. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.

- Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Strong knowledge of billing functions and account reconciliation.

- Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables and xlookup.

- Familiarity with aging accounts and aging reports management.

- Experience with Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.

- Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies effectively.
