Position: Director of Accounting & Finance ($150-170k + bonus, small company)

Director of Accounting & Finance

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr

The Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective internal controls. The Director works closely with senior management to provide financial insights that support strategic decision‑making and reports directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other applicable financial laws.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business strategy.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
