Structural Intern

Bennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Nashville office.

• Designing specific elements within overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis.
• Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables that are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.

• Are a self-starter and always willing to listen, learn and improve.
• Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on multiple projects, tasks and deadlines, and bring each to completion.

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
• Experience in Revit is a plus. Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, Ener Calc, Adapt, etc.
