RoleStructural Forensic Engineer
LocationLocation: Nashville, TN
We are seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Forensic Engineer to join the Nashville team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives on solving complex problems and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Conducting field investigations to document as-built and damaged structural systems (steel, concrete, masonry, wood, roofing, building envelopes) caused by natural events or human factors.
- Determining failure causes and origins, including involvement in construction litigation.
- Reviewing design drawings, evaluating building codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS), and recommending repair scopes.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and providing expert testimony in depositions, mediation, or court proceedings.
- Managing multiple assignments effectively while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Traveling on short notice to project sites regionally and nationally.
- Education:
Bachelor's in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. - Experience:
Minimum 10 years in structural engineering, design, or forensic roles. - Licensure:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain; additional state registrations are a plus. - Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of structural behavior, national building codes, and multiple construction types; hands‑on field investigation experience. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written skills for technical reporting and testimony. - Travel:
Flexibility to travel at short notice.
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $170,000 per year, based on experience.
