Field/Service Technician, Electrical Engineering
Job Summary
As a Utility Field Technician, you will assist in the acquisition of field data and the gathering of information from field notes. You will follow the Company's Code of Safe Practices as outlined in safety policies and ensure effective communication with supervisors, coworkers, and external clients. This role involves preparing and submitting required reports and correspondence, and independently designing and preparing construction orders related to overhead and underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems, applying prescribed standards, guidelines, specifications, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Assist in the acquisition and analysis of field data.
- Gather information from field notes to support project requirements.
- Adhere to the Company's Code of Safe Practices.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all organizational levels and external clients.
- Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence.
- Design and prepare construction orders for electric distribution systems.
- Apply industry standards in preparing layouts of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities.
- Experience as a distribution technician or pole surveyor.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications (MS Office products) preferred.
- Valid and clean driver's license required.
- Willingness to travel regionally and potentially for extended periods.
The position involves regional travel primarily during the business day to utility client territories, with occasional overnight travel. Travel may extend to other territories for up to two weeks on‑site if required. The role offers advancement potential and a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with company match.

Pay and BenefitsPay range: $21.00–$21.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
