Description
Amazon is seeking an Electrical Installation Lead to drive the successful installation, testing, and deployment of electrical systems for automation and material handling equipment across multiple facilities. The role requires deep electrical engineering expertise in power distribution, controls integration, and electrical safety compliance. The Lead will coordinate across engineering, construction, and operations partners to deliver safe, high‑quality installations at scale, ensuring every project meets Amazon’s rigorous safety, timeline, cost, and quality standards.
Keyjob responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex electrical installation projects with multi‑site impact ($10M to $50M scope)
- Provide technical expertise for electrical systems, power distribution, and controls integration
- Design and implement electrical solutions for automation systems and material handling equipment
- Follow and help develop electrical standards and best practices compliant with NEC/NFPA
- Work cross‑functionally with engineering, construction, and operations teams
- Participate in technical reviews and drive electrical engineering excellence
- Oversee electrical contractors and validate installation quality
- Create and review electrical single‑line diagrams and construction drawings
- Conduct power studies and load calculations for facility automation systems
- Support achievement of safety, timeline, cost, and quality metrics
- Provide technical input for electrical system design and modifications
- Manage relationships with electrical contractors and equipment vendors
As an Operations Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert in the electrical installation, testing, and deployment of automation and material handling solutions. The role requires strong electrical engineering expertise and the ability to collaborate across organizations to drive safe and efficient implementations across multiple sites.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at an intermediate level
- Experience working with and managing third‑party vendors
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing

Our base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
