Location (city, state): Nashville, TN (All local projects, no long-distance travel)
Compensation: $80,000–$90,000
Employment Type: Full-time
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of estimating experience within commercial mechanical or HVAC construction
- Experience working for a commercial mechanical subcontractor strongly preferred
- Proficiency in cost estimating, takeoffs, and bid preparation
- Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates initiative and a proactive work approach
The Estimator will support the New Construction Division by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial HVAC installation projects. This role is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing detailed takeoffs, developing budgets, and supporting preconstruction efforts to ensure successful project execution.
The Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure bids are thorough, competitive, and aligned with company objectives. Key Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed HVAC estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate cost projections
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals
- Analyze project scope and identify value engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with project management team during handoff from estimating to execution
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, budgets, and bid documentation
- Support preconstruction meetings and provide cost insight as needed
- Assist with change order pricing and cost revisions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures
