Data Center Construction Manager

Overview: AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, maintaining data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. Responsibilities- The Data Center Construction Manager will oversee construction project management and related activities for new builds or general capital projects, owning project scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases.
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals accurately.
- Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
- Perform financial analysis of construction.
- Manage construction projects aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
- Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
- Manage construction documents, including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
- Ensure construction project quality control.
- Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
- Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Act as a leader within the group and with internal and external teams supporting the data center.
- Interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.
- Define data center system‑level architecture, specify performance and equipment requirements, and communicate conceptual designs.
- Leverage experience with large‑scale technical operations or compute farms.
- Apply knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
- Manage controls and commissioning of large‑scale projects.
- Operate power management and monitoring systems.
- Hold certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.

Salary & LocationBase salary range: – USD annually. Package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) plus benefits such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
