Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) Job Description
Join our dynamic team to work on a wide range of water and wastewater projects for municipal and public‑sector clients. You will conduct engineering studies, prepare plans and specifications, and apply Civil Engineering principles across planning, design, and construction phases. This role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative and technically sound designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades, and retrofits.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering tasks while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
Engage in the full project lifecycle—from concept and planning through design, construction, and successful system operation.
Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, gravity sewer systems, pressure pipelines, and storage facilities.
Perform Civil Engineering design tasks, hydraulic modeling, and CAD‑related work.
Coordinate and communicate with internal team members, clients, contractors, and project partners.
Manage the technical aspects of projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
Take accountability for the successful delivery of Civil Engineering project components.
Participate in meetings with clients and contractors and help resolve technical issues as they arise.
Prepare clear, effective technical documentation and client communications, both written and in drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Civil Engineering principles and practices.
Experience with Civil 3D, land development, site development, grading, and Civil design.
Competence in using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
4-7 years of experience in wastewater engineering.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.87 - $55.00/hr.
