Job description: Amazon’s global fulfillment network enables merchants to ship items ordered on Amazon worldwide. The network involves complex logistics with a dense graph of nodes, handling millions of packages with various attributes and delivery needs. Our BI and Data Engineering team focuses on solving complex transportation problems using workflows, optimization algorithms, and machine learning systems, managing large-scale distributed systems.
As a Data Engineer, you will develop data pipelines, manage data infrastructure, and build automated BI services to support Amazon Shipping’s strategic planning.
Basic Qualifications:- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- 2+ years analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, No
SQL, etc. - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., CS, engineering, statistics)
- Knowledge of distributed data storage and computing systems
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines
- Proficiency in query languages (SQL, PL/SQL, HiveQL, Spark
SQL, Scala) - Experience with scripting languages (Python, Korn Shell)
- Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR)
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage)
