Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental Team
Join a diverse, dynamic, and enthusiastic team of environmental professionals who play a leading role in environmental permitting and compliance at Amazon Web Services (AWS). The work of our Regional Environmental Engineers is critical to enabling AWS’s growth in the US and around the world.
This position is based in Hamlet/Charlotte, North Carolina and will require travel throughout the state and the US.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
- Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
- Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
- Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
- Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
- Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
- Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
- Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
- Assist in time-critical compliance report submission to various governmental agencies.
- Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years experience as environmental compliance specialist.
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws.
- Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Experience in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or related fields.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Experience in projects in North Carolina or other Southern States.

Base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
