We’re looking for an Associate Geologist/Assistant Project Manager to continue their career at Jacobs – where we’ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients to make our world better.
Based in Michigan, Tennessee or Alabama, you’ll participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects. You’ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. You’ll gain valuable experience in soil and groundwater sampling as well as drilling and subcontractor oversight, spending about 50% of your time in the field.
You’ll balance your field work with some time spent in the office evaluating and reviewing data, writing reports and preparing project documents, coordinating logistics for field activities, and assisting in management of project work.
- Lead and Manage Field Projects
- Collaborate and Coordinate Work with subcontractors, internal support staff, and subject matter experts
- Technical Excellence:
Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and design and implement pilot studies and remedial systems - Mentorship and Growth:
Provide motivation and direction to project teams, and benefit from mentorship opportunities to help you grow your career at Jacobs
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or other closely related degree
- 5-10 years of professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology/procedures and assessment/evaluation of data for various environmental media
- Experience working on project sites and overseeing subcontractors
- Experience leading teams toward a common goal
- 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification
- Master’s degree in engineering, geology, or other closely related degree
- Professional registration (e.g., Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist) or the intent to obtain and maintain professional certification
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients
- Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data
- Familiarity with United States Environmental Protection Agency regulations including CERCLA and RCRA

Base salary range: $75,300.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
