Civil Design Engineer – Land Development

I’m recruiting for a confidential land development consulting firm in Nashville that’s growing its civil/site team. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer (or someone ready for a step up) who wants hands-on exposure to real projects, strong mentorship, and the chance to build practical designs that get constructed.

The work you’ll be doing

• Support the production of site civil design plans (layout, grading, utilities, stormwater)
• Assist with due diligence items: research, data gathering, and technical summaries/reports
• Build coordinated plan sets alongside PMs and engineers; help keep design packages consistent and complete
• Perform basic engineering calculations and drafting/modeling in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Help with permitting tasks and responses for local/state agencies
• Bring ideas to the table—solve design problems with the team and learn fast through feedback

What they’re looking for

• BS in Civil Engineering (or closely related)
• 0–3 years of land development/site design experience (internship or full-time)
• Working familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and core civil design concepts
• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn new workflows/tools
• Clear communication and a collaborative, team-first mindset
