Environmental Engineer
Langan is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Nashville, TN
. This individual will manage environmental/engineering projects and proposals, conduct engineering research and analysis, supervise field investigations and laboratory analyses, and contribute to local business development efforts. You will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects, grow a local team and office, solve problems, and restore the environment and return blighted properties to productive reuse while protecting and enhancing the environment.
- Work on local and nation-wide environmental projects
- Organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents
- Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings; ensure data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time
- Manage and deliver multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare progress reports, draft change orders, and assist in invoicing and collections
- Participate in identifying and pursuing new clients, developing additional work within existing projects, and attending business development meetings
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff; coach, train, and motivate staff on Environmental projects; participate in interviewing and hiring
- Coordinate other work groups within or across offices and disciplines as needed
- Interface professionally with clients, contractors, staff, and project personnel; participate in internal and external technical presentations and contribute to publications
- Perform other duties as requested
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Science;
Master’s degree with Environmental emphasis preferred - PE or PG Certification (preferred)
- 8+ years of related work experience
- Strong people, project, and client management skills
- Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements
- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits; valid driver’s license in good standing
