Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Automated Assembly Systems (ITAR)

Schedule: 50+ hours/week | Flexible start between 6:00–8:00 AM

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of custom automated assembly systems
. This is a hands-on, design-focused role for an experienced designer who can independently execute complex mechanical designs and contribute immediately in a fast-paced project environment.

This position is strictly focused on design execution
—there are no project management or leadership responsibilities
.

• Perform complex mechanical design for custom automated assembly equipment using Solid Works
• Own mechanical designs from initial layout through detailed component design
• Apply advanced engineering principles to solve non-routine or complex design challenges
• Participate in formal design reviews with Project Engineers and incorporate feedback
• Ensure designs meet requirements for accuracy, manufacturability, safety, and performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and systems teams
• Support system integration by delivering complete, high-quality mechanical designs
• Maintain design rigor while meeting aggressive project timelines

• 6+ years of experience designing automated assembly systems or custom automation
• Advanced proficiency in Solid Works (required)
• Experience with Windchill or similar PDM/PLM systems (preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
• Automation equipment and components
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Receptive to design feedback and iterative review cycles

• Heavy design execution role

• No project leadership, supervisory, or management responsibilities
