Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to support the Process Engineering team.
This individual will own a process/product roadmap and drive delivery of the vision of the next generation of AMZL delivery stations. This is a unique opportunity at a critical juncture in Amazon’s growth to drive end‑to‑end product delivery from inception to execution. We are looking for a hands‑on leader with experience managing new product and process development for high‑dollar value programs.
To be successful in this role you will need to influence and work with senior leaders across multiple organizations and geographies, partner with Worldwide (WW) Engineering and Design, WW Tech SME, Last Mile Delivery and Tech, as well as Operations and Safety, to innovate at scale and drive the development roadmap. You will manage large, complex initiatives, deal with ambiguity, and advocate on behalf of the customer to develop the next generation of AMZL delivery stations.
- Initiate, define, plan and manage the roll‑out of product features and enhancements for the next generation of AMZL Delivery Stations.
- Work closely with partner teams in Engineering, Tech and Operations to build impactful products.
- Identify new programs to onboard and integrate.
- Lead execution of the product with a high level of discipline and engagement with the product development teams.
- Present concepts, designs, program updates and roadmap to senior leadership on a frequent basis. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hold partner teams accountable for delivery of the project roadmap. Own a part of the vision of the next generation DS roadmap, including execution. Meet defined milestones and delivery dates.
- Drive a culture of innovation across the AMZL Strategic Planning and Process Engineering Org.
- 30% travel based on business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or an equivalent STEM field.
- 8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or a related occupation.
- Experience developing and designing equipment.
- Experience managing the lifecycle of cross‑functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field.
- Operations Management/Distribution Center experience with direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or other technical projects.
- Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet programs.
- Experience with design and/or implementation automation solutions, such as conveyors, sorters, high‑speed manufacturing and packaging lines, robotic work cells.
- Proven technical leadership for industrial engineering projects or programs.
