The team includes engineers, planners, architects, surveyors, and field specialists who collaborate closely to develop thoughtful infrastructure solutions for public agencies and private partners across the region.

We’re looking for a Traffic Engineer who wants to take ownership of challenging transportation projects, contribute innovative ideas, and help guide mobility decisions that affect entire communities.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll support a wide variety of transportation and traffic projects, from corridor evaluations to signal system design to operational analysis. You’ll work alongside planners, roadway engineers, and design technicians to deliver solutions rooted in safety, efficiency, and long term value. Your work will span planning, analysis, modeling, design, and client communication.

You will:

  • Lead and support traffic impact studies, corridor analyses, and operational evaluations
  • Develop signal timing, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, and temporary traffic control concepts
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, presentations, and supporting documentation for clients, municipalities, and public meetings
  • Conduct field reviews to gather data, observe traffic behavior, and assess conditions
  • Collaborate with local and state agencies to ensure design compliance and project coordination
  • Produce design drawings using Open Roads Designer, Micro Station, and AutoCAD
  • Apply and interpret MUTCD, AASHTO, NACTO, TDOT, and other industry standards
  • Manage project deadlines, budgets, and communication with both internal teams and external partners

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) license (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering
  • Familiarity with TDOT projects, processes, and expectations (Preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and analyze traffic data and communicate recommendations effectively
  • PTOE certification is a plus
