Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager

The Amazon Projects team needs a deep understanding of the project life cycle, including span allocation across the four pillars (assessment, design & detailing performance qualification) for any project.
Key aspects of the role include site selection with the RE team, project statutory and legal compliance adherence, project safety in design and execution, value management for large and medium‑scale projects, and execution of diverse technical projects (green‑field, brown‑field, and improvement projects).
The candidate is required to lead the planning and execution of all building formats and will be responsible for a specific region – North India. The Project Engineer role will be responsible for setting up new Centers across different business formats, capacity expansion of existing facilities, and relocation of facilities as per business requirements.
Project Manager responsibilities include on‑time and safe delivery and hand‑over of facilities across business formats, ensuring the project is executed with the highest standards and best engineering practices. Other roles and responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
- Support the RE Team in site visits and due diligence through site inspections for feasibility assessment of setting up a facility for the given business format.
- Work on finalising conceptual layouts and assess layout parameters from an operations perspective.
- Prepare the Developer’s Scope of Work for the site as per standards and specifications.
- Prepare Amazon scope of work, the cost estimate and submission of Build‑out Capex request for approval.
- Finalise Project Management Consultants.
- Plan and manage project resources through the appointed PMC or hired resources.
- Work with the Procurement team to evaluate and finalise vendors for the projects.
- Review material requirements with all stakeholders for setting up and launching the facility and track till receipt and implementation.
- Progress monitor and execution manage onsite activities of Amazon scope of work.
- Track and ensure quality of work by the Developer.
- Ensure snag‑free hand‑over to Facilities Team.
- Co‑operate with the Launch team in preparation of the launch of a site closer to completion.
- Ensure budget adherence and safe execution at site – with no budget overruns and with a targeted zero LTI.
- Prepare weekly progress reviews and reports with status updates.
- Ensure timely project closure including the commercials.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or technology
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience in engineering, including a supervisory role managing people
- Experience in project management
- Experience in preventative maintenance systems
- Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems
