Overview
Logistics & Storage Engineering (L&SE) is an engineering service and project management organization that manages project work associated with pipeline, terminals, and marine organizations within MPLX. MPC is committed to safety, quality, and a collaborative team environment.
Position SummaryThe role is a Project Engineer responsible for all project aspects: scope, estimation, schedule, engineering design, equipment/material selection, bidding, contractor selection, construction oversight, change management, safety and environmental oversight, and related tasks to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple projects through the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP) phases:
Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start‑up/Close‑out. - Collaborate with departments, experts, technicians, and vendors to gather data for planning, design, and execution; obtain construction permits with local authorities.
- Monitor and control project performance during execution to meet quality, cost, and time goals safely and environmentally.
- Work with Project Controls on scheduling, estimating, and cost management; conduct productivity analysis to resolve variances.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain on contracting plans; prepare bid requests and evaluate offers based on engineering and business principles.
- Maintain accurate, current project documentation.
- Apply engineering standards and regulatory requirements to projects.
- Hold or obtain a valid TWIC.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or similar) from an accredited institution. - 0+ years of industry experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; travel to field or fabrication sites as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred locations:
Findlay, OH;
Indianapolis, IN;
Nashville, TN. Other L&SE locations may be considered.
Travel up to 25‑35% of the time, including overnight stays. Hybrid work schedule available.
