Our client is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to anchor their presence in Tennessee. This is the opportunity to lead large-scale civil site development projects while building a local team and growing our regional brand. The position combines technical leadership with client development and office growth, supported by established backlog and strong corporate resources.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Lead large-scale, multi-discipline civil site design and construction projects across ports, harbors and heavy industry.
- Manage technical engineering activities from planning through project closure, including feasibility studies, design reports, and cost estimates.
- Oversee preparation of construction drawings for site grading, paving, stormwater systems, wastewater collection, and water distribution.
- Provide technical leadership on marine and waterfront infrastructure projects, including shoreline protection and stabilization.
- Engage directly with clients, leaders, and public officials as a trusted partner.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams across disciplines to deliver tailored solutions.
- Build and grow the Tennessee office, including hiring, mentoring, and shaping local culture.
- Lead subcontractors and delegate tasks to engineers, technicians, and scientists.
- Participate in field activities, permitting, CAD design, and report preparation.
- Develop and apply design standards and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 8+ years of hands‑on engineering experience with design, permitting, and feasibility studies for civil site development.
- Strong background in large-scale projects, ideally in marine, industrial, manufacturing, or municipal sectors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in client development and leadership.
- Prior experience with marine infrastructure design, coastal engineering, and regulatory navigation strongly preferred.
