Sr. Manager, Drone Engineering, Prime Air

Prime Air is building a scalable, safe, and fast drone delivery service. We are looking for a technical and business leader to define the vision and roadmap for our drone vehicle, the core product in our goal of delivering millions of packages within 30 minutes. This role influences and partners with Engineering, Product, Finance, Regulatory, and Operations leaders across Amazon.

• Engineer, integrate, and deliver the Prime Air drone vehicle system, including hardware and platform‑level system integration.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers to deliver high‑quality, aerospace‑grade products.
• Develop and execute an integrated product development plan, recruiting and developing senior leaders and technical program managers.
• Drive technical strategy, manage program timelines, and collaborate cross‑functionally to achieve business impact.
• Ensure compliance with export control requirements and obtain necessary licenses.

• 10+ years of engineering team management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• System‑level integration experience.
• 12+ years of aerospace product design and certification experience.

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading large cross‑functional projects through the full product development lifecycle.
• Experience leading aircraft integration programs or teams.

The base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually.
