Duration: Approx. 18 months
Work Type: Onsite
Pay Rate: $80–85/hr. (W2 only)
Per Diem: $178/day for out-of-town candidates
Position OverviewThis role focuses on construction scope and partners closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and maintenance teams to deliver accurate, compliant estimates.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed and conceptual construction cost estimates
- Prepare and maintain the Project Basis of Estimate (BOE)
- Estimate labor costs across engineering, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and program management, including skill mix, hours, rates, and escalation
- Estimate materials and equipment
, including structural components, MEP systems, specialized test equipment, instrumentation, and controls - Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
, including bid reviews and price reasonableness analysis - Identify project risks and support contingency recommendations
- Collaborate with engineers, SMEs, and external contractors to ensure estimate accuracy
- Maintain complete documentation of assumptions, calculations, and approvals
- Support estimating templates, cost models, and historical data
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and government standards
- Follow all safety requirements, including use of company-issued PPE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Math, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of construction estimating experience on complex facilities
- Strong knowledge of estimating methods, classifications, and cost components
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience with labor productivity, escalation forecasting, and cost indexing
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
- Experience with government, defense, or test facility projects
- Background estimating MEP-intensive or technically complex facilities
- Experience with subcontractor procurement and proposal evaluation
- Familiarity with risk assessments and contingency development
- Proficiency with estimating tools and spreadsheet-based analysis
