Base pay range$55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
Job Title: CEI Inspector - Utilities
Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities- Ability to read and interpret roadway and structure plans, contract specifications, schedules, and quantities
- Monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and perform inspections to ensure conformance to project plans and specifications and document process
- Prepare daily field reports
- Ensure quality assurance is met for project
- Meet scheduling and attendance requirements
- Understand and interpret schematic drawings
- Work on interstate widening project that requires utility monitoring
- Inspect installation of all utilities on the project
- High School Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- 3+ years of related work experience in utilities inspection as part of an interstate improvement project
- Experienced in GDOT manuals, specifications and protocols
- Familiar with traffic control plans including but not limited to traffic shifts, detours, lane closures or other activities that disrupt traffic flow
- Knowledge of the properties, characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of the materials used in construction
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Familiar with GDOT Utility Coordination procedures during construction
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat
