Project Engineer, Geotech

RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Nashville Office. As a Geotechnical Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations; develop design computations; and prepare of geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
• Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
• Preparation of bridge, roadway, retaining wall foundation, and structure recommendations,
• Preparation of Geotechnical Sheets, and
• Collaborate on innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering

Required Skills and Experience

• BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
• Professional Engineer License is required
• Four (4) + years of Geotechnical Design experience
• Passion for client service and engineering
• Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, Rocscience products, and GRLWEAP
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Knowledge of Microstation

Preferred Skills and Experience

• MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering preferred
• Six (6) + years of Geotechnical Design experience, TDOT experience preferred
