Your Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

* Perform as project manager, and/or technical specialist on roadway engineering projects, responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.

* Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to other engineering disciplines on transportation-related projects.

* Prepare reports and develop planning documents.

* Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand client's needs.

* Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and the client's needs.

* Produce detailed, high-quality design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.

* Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

* Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents.

* Actively identify project pursuit opportunities, manage client relationships, develop new clients, and assist in the preparation of proposals to win those pursuits.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

* Professional Engineer registered in the State of Tennessee or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.

* Proficient in design of transportation/civil engineering projects including preparation of plans and specifications, and cost estimates for all aspects of roadway construction.

* Ability to lead one or more design teams through all phases of project production.

* Ability to perform and/or oversee the preparation of roadway design plans including geometric layout, drainage design, and earthwork computations.

* Ability to work with other transportation related disciplines to incorporate bridges and / or other structural elements, traffic signals and / or other traffic control elements, Intelligent Transportation Systems and roadway lighting into a comprehensive plan set.

* Proficient in planning and report preparation

* Proficient in traffic control plan production and sequence of construction for roadway projects including Transportation Management Plans, temporary signing, striping and barricades, and detour plans.
