EHS Regional Manager – Specialty Materials Manufacturing

Role OverviewOur client is seeking a Regional EHS Manager to support the development, deployment and continuous improvement of EHS management systems and programs across their U.S. and Canada sites. This person will oversee approximately 6–8 facilities, ensuring compliance, driving cultural excellence, and leading key initiatives across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary EHS subject matter expert and business partner for assigned U.S. and Canadian facilities.
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to provide operational support.
- Collaborate with Operations to review incidents, corrective actions, lessons learned and compliance priorities.
- Support accident/incident investigations and share findings to prevent recurrence.
- Strengthen site EHS capability through guidance, benchmarking, and best-practice sharing.
- Facilitate stronger collaboration and communication between regional sites.
- Coach leadership teams to drive EHS culture, engagement and accountability.
- Lead deployment of EHS programs and initiatives aligned with global standards.
- Reinforce strong safety expectations through consistent communication of goals and metrics.
- Develop action plans to address performance gaps and track progress.
- Produce regular reporting and analysis for regional and corporate EHS requirements.
- Support annual planning, KPIs, improvement actions and strategic EHS execution across assigned sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ EHS/Industrial Hygiene/OH&S experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other relevant regulations.
- Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and influencing capability.
- Strong organizational, planning and program management skills.
- Knowledge of Behavior-Based Safety principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with EHS systems (e.g., EHS Velocity) beneficial.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
