Summer Early Education Planning & Institute Support Intern

Position Summary

The Summer Early Education Planning & Institute Intern will assist the Early Education Department with planning for the upcoming school year and preparation, execution, and follow-up for the Summer Learning Institute (SLI). This position is designed for a short-term, high-impact experience focused on organization, data support, training preparation, and event logistics.

The intern will gain exposure to Head Start and Early Head Start operations, professional development planning, and program quality systems while providing meaningful administrative and planning support.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with organizing and updating:
    • Classroom posting and compliance checklists
    • Beginning-of-year teacher planning tools
  • Support preparation of back-to-school planning materials
  • Assist with pre-event preparation for SLI:
    • Session materials
    • Sign-in sheets and attendance tracking
    • PPT formatting and printing coordination
  • Support logistics during SLI
  • Assist with post-SLI tasks:
    • Organizing feedback forms
    • Summarizing reflections and themes
  • Support preparation of simple data visuals for presentations and reports
  • Track completion of internal planning documents and checklists
  • Assist with CDA portfolio and training material organization (non-instructional)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Junior or senior college student
  • Major or interest in Education, Child Development, Public Administration, or related fields
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Interest in early childhood education and public service
