The Assistant Kidtown Director works closely with the Kidtown Director to execute the
vision of Kidtown. Kidtown is key in fostering a safe, fun, and positive learning experience
within the ministry. This role will assist in recruiting and training volunteers, managing the
event calendar, as well as setup and tear down on Sunday mornings.
Functions & Responsibilities- Weekly meeting with Kidtown director to discuss schedule and to do list for the week
- Attend weekly Granny White Staff meetings
- Update, input information and communicate with visitors
- Recruit for upcoming Sunday morning
- Assist with event planning and creating semester calendar
- Be on duty for Sunday mornings from 7:30 am – 1:30 pm
- Flip rooms to create classrooms
- Double check supplies in rooms for lessons.
- Teach large group lesson as needed
- Teach toddler lesson as needed
- Be available for any needs that may arise during services.
- Attend 1 church service per Sunday.
- Flip spaces back to prepare for the following week.
- Reset rooms:
Clean, reorganize toys/supplies, gather curriculum bins and take out trash in Nursery. - Follow up with Kidtown Director about any important information from the services.
- Functions as director when director is off.
- Partnering with Kidtown Director for formatting and creating curriculum.
- Partner with new volunteer training and recruitment.
- Partner with volunteer refresh training.
- Attending quarterly curriculum meetings.
The ideal candidate:
- Has a love for children and understands the spiritual developmental needs of ages Nursery-5th grade
- Has the ability to lead, recruit, and supervise volunteers
- Has the ability to teach in large and small group settings
- Has the ability to aid in event planning
- Has the ability to aid in curriculum planning
- Is a committed Christian with a servant’s heart who follows the belief and action of the scriptures
- Has a teachable heart and is a team player
- Hungry for growth in relationship with Christ
- Humble leader who is open to feedback and loves to learn
- Embraces change as opportunity for positive growth, for self and organization
- Enthusiastic about opportunity to work in ministry
