Nossi College of Art and Design is seeking energetic and qualified adjunct faculty members for our Bachelor's in Video program.
We are currently reviewing resumes for part-time Instructors to teach AUDIO TECHNIQUES on our campus in Madison. Our program focuses on professional lighting techniques both on location and in our studios.
Description: Students will learn basic audio recording, mixing, and editing techniques for video production using industry-standard hardware and software. Through various exercises, students will gain hands-on experience exploring the technical and theoretical aspects of audio engineering.
Qualifications: Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to communicate effectively to help students achieve their goals. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in photography or a related field, with at least five years of professional experience, is required. Specialization in relevant areas is preferred to ensure students learn best practices.
Class Schedule and Environment: Classes meet once a week for four hours, starting at 8 am, 1 pm, or 6 pm, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Our studios are open from 8 am to 10 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 am to 4 pm on Fridays. The upcoming semester begins on May 6th, 2024.
Curriculum and Assessment: Courses are outlined weekly in our Moodle portal, with automated quizzes and electronic grade recording. Out-of-class commitments are limited.
Responsibilities include:
- Fostering a creative and inclusive learning environment
- Providing constructive feedback and supporting artistic development
- Maintaining professional conduct
- Informing students of course requirements and policies
- Monitoring and recording attendance and progress
- Motivating and advising students
- Ensuring timely grading and communication of grades
- Maintaining classroom order and providing 3.5 hours of learning per class
Position Details: This is a campus-based position in Nashville, TN, requiring adaptability, effective classroom management, and alignment with College policies.
