Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Academic Program Coordinator for Flourishing Initiatives plays a pivotal role in creating an environment where students can truly thrive, academically, personally, and professionally. In addition to administrative responsibilities, this position is an impact-focused role dedicated to empowering students through comprehensive success programs and seamless office operations. The coordinator is a strategic thinker and a compassionate communicator who designs initiatives that inspire growth, manages essential administrative functions, provide proactive and immediate independent diagnostic support for a wide array of issues, delivering on-the-spot problem resolution for all current students and cultivates a welcoming space for students, staff, and faculty.

Reporting to the Assistant Provost of Student Success and Flourishing, this role champions a culture of whole person flourishing and academic thriving, ensuring that every program and interaction reflects the university’s commitment to holistic development. From guiding student success initiatives and managing data-driven strategies to overseeing office operations and fiscal responsibilities, the Academic Program Coordinator serves as a cornerstone for student flourishing and institutional excellence.

Office

Management
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, organized, and efficient office environment that reflects the university’s commitment to student flourishing. This role ensures that daily operations run smoothly while fostering a space where students and staff feel supported and valued. Responsibilities include managing schedules, coordinating resources, and maintaining office technology to optimize productivity.
  • Lead and mentor a team of student assistants and interns, providing guidance that promotes professional growth and equips them to deliver exceptional support for student success. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student interactions, program participation, and outcomes, and prepare detailed reports for leadership that highlight achievements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage schedules, resources, and office technology to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor student assistants and interns, fostering professional development and readiness to support student success.
  • Maintain precise records of student interactions and program outcomes; prepare insightful reports for leadership.
Supervision
  • Design and implement training programs that enhance knowledge and performance, conduct regular evaluations, and offer constructive feedback to promote growth. Responsibilities include managing work schedules to ensure balanced workloads and adequate coverage, accommodating academic commitments, and maintaining compliance with university policies and regulations. Acting as the primary liaison between student staff and other departments, the coordinator will facilitate clear communication, resolve conflicts promptly, and sustain a collaborative, positive work atmosphere.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for student workers, interns, and graduate assistants.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, offer constructive feedback, and develop training programs to strengthen skills.
  • Manage schedules and workloads while accommodating academic priorities.
  • Maintain compliance with university policies and foster a harmonious, team-oriented environment.
Budget Management
  • Provide thoughtful and strategic oversight of budgets within the Division of Student Success and Flourishing, ensuring that financial resources are aligned with the university’s mission to support student achievement and holistic development.
