- Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This role serves as a critical component of Belmont University's recruitment strategy, focusing on engaging local prospective students and their families. This position provides leadership to improve processes, recruits students from various backgrounds, and manages first-year student enrollment in a designated region, evaluating applicant credentials, and expanding access through partnerships with community colleges. The job also requires knowledge of financial aid, awarding merit-based scholarships, and collaborating on special recruitment initiatives such as the Bell Tower Scholarship, Ingram Scholarship, E.S. Rose Scholarship, and Belmont Community Scholarship programs.
The role emphasizes broadening student access and representation within the campus community and includes participation in various on-campus events and initiatives.
- Recruit undergraduate prospective students for a specific geographic territory through strategic and personal outreach. Maintain a breadth and depth of Belmont's unique opportunities in order to effectively communicate Belmont's academic offerings, social and spiritual composition to external stakeholders, includes exercising knowledge of all scholarships and financial aid programs available itionally, meeting prospective students on campus and virtually both individually and by hosting information sessions on campus.
Includes participation in all on campus Admission events including Preview Days, Be Belmont Day, and scholarship interview days. - Lead the recruitment process of the Bell Tower Scholars and participate in the selection, vetting, interviewing, and on boarding of the cohort. This includes campus visits to MNPS respective schools that are apart of the Bell Tower program and constant communication to MNPS counselors and Post-Secondary departments through the Bell Tower Scholarship Application cycle.
- Spearhead the logistical coordination for prestigious scholarships, including the Ingram Achiever Scholarship, E.S. Rose Scholarship ("Rose Park"), and Belmont Community Scholarship. Responsibilities involve scheduling and facilitating selection committee interviews, liaising with key stakeholders Additionally, collaboration with pertinent parties and other relevant staff for event logistics, dining reservations, and campus tours to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for scholarship candidates.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to expand Belmont’s reach to students from various socioeconomic, educational, and geographic backgrounds. Collaborate with the admission team to coordinate on-campus programming to support and engage first-generation college students and those historically less represented in higher education, including summer programs and academies. Build and strengthen partnerships with local community colleges and community-based organizations (CBOs), both locally and nationally, to promote greater access to higher education.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of Belmont’s financial aid offerings and related support programs to effectively guide prospective students through enrollment. - Create, manage and execute a recruitment travel plan. Travel may include direct visitation to high schools, college fairs, hosting information sessions, and scheduling individual appointments with prospective students.
- Evaluate credentials of prospective students to determine their academic and personal compatibility with the goals and mission of Belmont University. Includes participation in the awarding of academic merit scholarships to qualified applicants.
