Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist with operations and communications for approximately 200 student organizations, including training, maintenance of the online resource center, handbook, finance, advisor training, etc.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of policies, procedures, and resources for student organizations.
  • Assist with reviewing event submissions via Bruin Link.
  • Aid in the supervision and facilitation of training for student workers.
  • Provide guidance and review applicable policies to students who wish to start new student organizations.
  • Assist with maintaining the Booqable rental system for student organizations.
  • Assist with planning large-scale, collaborative campus events (e.g., Homecoming, Bruin Link Fair, It Must Be Wednesday, Day to Dream, Panhellenic Recruitment, Greek Sing, etc.).

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Student Engagement professional staff.
  • Assist the Office of Student Engagement with analyzing data and completing reports.
  • Attend and assist in execution and facilitation of meetings and events as scheduled by the Office of Student Engagement.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Compensation and Schedule
  • Hourly wage of $15 and candidates can work a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • 10-month position (August-May) totaling approximately $1200/month.
  • 6 hours of tuition credit per semester.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Enrollment in a University graduate studies program
  • Maintain full-time status (minimum six credit hours)

  • Creating and facilitating leadership development trainings.
  • Engaging with constituents at multiple levels – senior campus administrators, students, faculty, and staff.
