Responsibilities
  • Fill vacancies created when teachers are absent or on leave; provide instructional support in the classroom
  • Provide tutoring/intervention services for students as needed
  • Work with instructional leaders to plan daily lessons to meet diverse student needs
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to student needs and interests
  • Follow the classroom daily schedule, class rosters, lesson plans, and other information from the teacher or administration
  • Proctor and grade examinations or lessons and record results in appropriate records; record attendance per policy
  • Establish and enforce behavior rules to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Participate in meetings and assist with school events as required
  • Supervise students in and out of the classroom
  • Maintain respectful working relationships and comply with MNPS policies and laws
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor s Degree or a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited institution (transcript required). Alternatives may be considered per Director of Schools
  • Experience:

    1-3 years preferred
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong oral and written communication with students, parents, and staff
    • Ability to plan, organize, and set priorities
    • Basic technology proficiency
    • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
    • Knowledge of School Board policies and practices
    • Ability to manage problems with sensitivity and tact
    • Ability to supervise students for a safe and orderly learning environment
    • Ability to assist with IEP goals
    • Ability to work effectively with peers and administrators
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks professionally
    • Professional telephone manners
