The mission of First Steps, Inc. is to educate and care for children with special needs and medical conditions alongside their typically developing peers in inclusive environments and support their families.

As a Floating Teacher at First Steps, you will assist in providing developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for children with and without developmental delays and disabilities in a classroom setting.

• Assist Lead Teachers with developmental assessments and up-to-date documentation
• Gain a thorough understanding of each child’s individual challenges
• Help making appropriate adaptions for children with special needs
• Work with Lead Teacher to ensure classroom designs and operations meet TN State Licensing Standards, the 3-Star Rating Program and Tennessee’s Early Learning Standards

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience working with young children
