Principal - Position Type: 10-Month
- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in your content area (e.g., art, music, dance, technology, physical education, or other electives).
- Create opportunities for scholars to explore interests, express themselves, and build confidence in their abilities.
- Use assessment tools, rubrics, and student reflections to measure growth and tailor instruction.
- Partner with colleagues across grade levels and content areas to integrate electives into the broader school experience.
- Participate in weekly professional development, welcoming feedback to refine your practice.
- Contribute to a school culture that values creativity, innovation, and whole-child development.
- Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners and skill levels.
- Incorporate culturally relevant materials and approaches that resonate with scholars’ identities and experiences.
- Organize showcases, performances, or exhibitions to celebrate scholar work and achievement.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate regularly with families about scholar progress, achievements, and growth opportunities.
- Advocate for the importance of electives as a core component of a well-rounded education.
- Passionate about teaching and helping scholars discover and grow their unique talents.
- A lifelong learner who embraces feedback and continuously seeks to improve your practice.
- Creative, flexible, and resourceful, with a belief in the potential of every child.
- Skilled at engaging scholars in hands-on, relevant, and joyful learning experiences.
- An excellent communicator who values collaboration with families and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Valid teaching certification or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment.
- Preferred:
Previous teaching experience in electives (art, music, dance, PE, technology, etc.), especially in underserved communities.
