Position: Middle School Multilingual Learner (ESL) Teacher  – $3,000 Signing Bonus (25-26 School Year)

Overview

Intrepid College Prep is a network of free, college preparatory public charter schools located in the Antioch area of Greater Nashville, Tennessee, with campuses at Opportunity Academy Middle School and Independence Academy High School. We educate scholars in a 5–12 model to engage in a rigorous, college-preparatory education before transitioning to college and professional opportunities. We are an open-enrollment school, with no entrance test or tuition required for enrollment.

Compensation

Base pay range: $51,292.00/yr - $91,334.00/yr

Intrepid College Prep provided pay range; actual pay is based on skills and experience. Starting salary (Year
0) for a teacher with zero years of experience begins at $51,292.0. Teachers are eligible to participate in the MNPS Retirement System. Base salaries are determined by the ICP salary scale and years of relevant teaching experience. We do not negotiate salaries because of research that demonstrates inequitable pay impacts.

Signing Bonus

Earn a $3,000 signing bonus to welcome Multilingual Learner (ESL) teachers to the Intrepid team. Eligible new hires will receive:

  • $1,500 in your first paycheck
  • $1,500 at the end of Quarter 1

Qualifications
  • Tennessee Certification in the appropriate content area, with a track record of data-driven achievement
  • B.A./B.S. degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred in an urban public school or charter school
  • Degree in the subject area intended to teach preferred, but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
What You’ll Do / Responsibilities

Our lessons engage students in rigorous, grade-level conceptual understandings and critical thinking. We provide equitable learning material through targeted differentiation and thoughtful scaffolds to meet diverse learners. We communicate high expectations and believe students can meet them.

  • Internalize, accommodate, and execute our rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum including daily lesson plans, unit plans, and the scope and sequence
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure academic growth for English Learners and students with disabilities
  • Utilize structured planning time and professional development opportunities to plan high-quality lessons
  • Engage in a teaching culture with classroom visits, curriculum publication, observation and feedback cycles
  • Share teaching strategies, observe peer classrooms, and analyze achievement data to develop best practices
  • Contribute to a school culture of consistency and high expectations by implementing school-wide systems, structures, and procedures
  • Participate in after-school programs as needed
  • Engage in a limited number of optional evening/weekend student recruitment and community outreach events as needed
  • Other school support duties as assigned
