Assistant​/Associate Professor, Department of Periodontics

Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry invites applications for full-time or part-time faculty positions in the Department of Periodontics. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Periodontist to participate in predoctoral and postdoctoral education. The candidate will contribute to clinical teaching, didactic instruction, curriculum development, and may engage in research and scholarly activities. A strong commitment to academic excellence, patient-centered care, and the advancement of oral health is essential.

• Demonstrate proficiency in clinical periodontics, including advanced surgical techniques and implant placement
• Have strong instructional and communication skills with experience in academic settings
• Be able to work effectively with varied students, faculty, and patient populations
• Be familiar with educational technology and electronic health landschap
• Have experience with curriculum design and academic program assistance
• Have published research and scholarly contributions in the field of Periodontics
• Have a Board Certification from the American Board of Periodontology
• Have a current Laser Safety certification
• Have a current Sedation certification

• DDS or DMD from a U.S. or Canadian accredited dental school.
• Completion of a CODA-accredited postgraduate program in Periodontology.
• Clinical teaching experience at the predoctoral or postdoctoral level.
• Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Tennessee or eligible to become licensed.
• Board Certification for the Advanced Education program in Periodontics.
