Job SummaryThe Assistant Estimator supports the estimating team in preparing accurate and timely bids primarily within CSI Division 10, along with Divisions 6, 8, and 12. This role focuses on learning the estimating process, performing quantity take-offs, organizing bid documents, and assisting with cost analysis and vendor coordination.
This position is ideal for someone early in their construction career who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in growing into a full estimating role.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Some travel may be required
- Assist estimators with review of plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost analysis
- Request and track vendor quotes and pricing
- Organize bid files and maintain estimating documentation
- Support preparation of proposals and submission packages
- Attend site visits and meetings to document conditions and gather information
- Coordinate awarded projects to the project management team
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members
- Learn Division 10 scopes and construction methods
- Other duties as assigned
- Basic blueprint reading ability (architectural/interior preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to learn take-off and estimating software
- Team-oriented with willingness to learn and ask questions
High school diploma or equivalent required
Construction Management or related education preferred
0–3 years construction or construction office experience preferred
