Landscape Construction Project Manager
Position OverviewThe Landscape Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex outdoor construction projects from pre-construction through final completion. This role requires strong leadership, advanced construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in landscape construction and hardscape projects, with pool construction experience strongly preferred. This position requires big-picture thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to align teams, subcontractors, materials, and schedules to deliver high-end outdoor environments on time and within budget.
Base Pay Range$85,000.00/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Manage landscape construction projects from contract award through closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the pre-construction and construction phases, providing clear and consistent communication
- Collaborate with internal teams, designers, and trade partners (including subcontractors and vendors) to ensure project scope, quality, and timelines are met
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets in coordination with internal project support staff
- Lead field teams and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of work, adherence to plans, and high-quality craftsmanship
- Review construction documents, design plans, and specifications to identify conflicts, constructability issues, or scope gaps prior to and during construction
- Coordinate and approve material procurement, equipment needs, and labor resources
- Prepare and manage change orders, including pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
- Support the sales and estimating team during project handoff and estimate review
- Track daily progress, production, and site activities using project management software and detailed job logs
- Utilize construction and field management software to drive efficiency, accountability, and profitability
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring all job sites comply with OSHA and company safety standards
- Extensive experience in landscape construction project management
- Strong background in hardscape construction, grading, drainage, retaining walls, site utilities, and outdoor amenities
- Pool construction experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets simultaneously
- High-level proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and site plans
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and resource planning
- Ability to troubleshoot field challenges and make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication skills with clients, designers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to guide teams and resolve conflict professionally
- Experience using or willingness to learn construction ERP and project management software (e.g., Aspire, Asana, or similar platforms)
- Minimum of 5+ years of landscape construction or related construction project management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Construction, or a related field is a plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to craftsmanship and client experience
