Note:
This position is with our National Healthcare Division. Candidates must be open to 100% travel. Project locations may vary. Travel incentives are available.

Role Summary

The General Superintendent develops and executes project plans, overseeing all aspects of complex projects. Responsibilities include managing teams, planning construction sequencing, and ensuring project goals align with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture, demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors, organize workflow, and oversee project staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Develop work plans, coordinate project site activities, and lead project meetings.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and costs, and communicate key information to stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality standards, support project closeouts, and participate in project pursuit and negotiation processes.
  • Recruit top talent and promote diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and construction technology.
  • Deep knowledge of construction processes, trades, self-perform work, and budget management.
  • Ability to understand project documentation, layout, crane operations, and productivity rates.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years construction experience, with 10+ years in field supervision.
