City Manager – Nashville

Join Flex as the first City Manager to own the business owner community in Nashville. Report to the Head of Marketing and partner with creative, data, and sales teams to grow awareness and referral programs for Flex’s finance super app.

Key Responsibilities
  • Host and curate high‑value events (dinners, salons, small‑format gatherings) that attract premium business owners.
  • Build personal 1:1 relationships, becoming a trusted connector and community resource.
  • Own peer‑to‑peer referral flywheels and track attribution back to your channel.
  • Leverage CRM rigorously: log every relationship, event touchpoint, and referral, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Follow up with intent—personalized notes, content sharing, and 1:1s to deepen engagement beyond the event.
  • Measure and communicate ROI of efforts (pipeline generated, conversion rates, referral multipliers, CAC payback).
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, sales, and data teams to align messaging and optimize attribution strategies.
  • Represent Flex authentically as the local face—know our product, mission, and business owner needs.
What You Bring
  • 2–5 years of experience in investing, business owner support, partnerships, or ecosystem/community‑building roles.
  • Proven ability to host and lead high‑value events that drive meaningful relationships.
  • Existing networking and relationship‑building skills with business owners.
  • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Hub Spot, Salesforce, Affinity) and applying attribution strategies.
  • Data‑driven mindset—comfortable tying community activity to business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident representing Flex in front of business owners and investors.
  • Entrepreneurial and scrappy—thrives in ambiguity, loves on‑ground work, and can spin up dinners, follow‑ups, and reports within a week.
  • Bonus:
    Prior experience as a founder, operator, or SMB community role.
