JOB SUMMARYThe Consulting Director, Procurement responsible for acquiring all materials, services, supplies, equipment and assists leadership and direction through management of a comprehensive and coordinated program of procurement activities including purchasing, property control, surplus property, receiving and contract administration for the Authority. The Temporary Director is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Authority's procurement program to support users and maintain legal compliance, financial accountability, physical control and effective resource utilization for assigned programs.
ESSENTIALJOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with developing and managing Procurement staff members.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships within organization and with vendors to facilitate procurement and purchasing.
- Ensures the consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Assists in departmental budget preparation.
- Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
- Follows all safety regulations.
- Supports commitment to its culture and values including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
Leadership & Team Management, Contract & Vendor Managements strategic Procurement & Purchasing and proficiency in ERP/Tech.
- 4–7 years of progressively responsible procurement or supply chain experience (required).
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in contract administration, purchasing, and vendor management (required).
- Leadership experience managing procurement teams (preferred).
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
- Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO).
- Other recognized procurement/supply chain certificationse.g., CIPS, APICS).
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar).
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and supplier diversity initiatives.
- Familiarity with risk management and compliance frameworks.
