The Administrative Services Officer 2 - Fleet participates in a variety of administrative services essential to operation of the Fleet section within the Codes Department. Performs related duties as required.
The Metro Department of Codes and Building Safety, During the 2025 fiscal year, Codes issued and tracked $3.8 billion in building permits. The department concerns itself with the safety of the public as occupants in homes and buildings throughout the county and promotes beautiful neighborhoods through the enforcement of local codes and zoning regulations. Codes is an exciting and fast paced environment for those passionate about public safety in the construction and planning sectors.
Responsibilities- Researches administrative problems and recommends solutions for internal fleet coordination.
- Prepares and submits a variety of administrative or management related reports pertaining to fleet operations.
- Assists with managing vehicle inventory, driver assignments and updates.
- Assists with monitoring fuel usage, vehicle washes, and individual driver usage.
- Assists with maintaining vehicle maintenance, insurance claims, and all pertinent records and documents for fleet operations.
- Produces and reviews reports related to vehicle registration and inventory.
- Assists with conducting routine vehicle inspections and follow-up inspections for driver infractions.
- Application of decals and vehicle identification markings.
- Formulates specialized statistical data used in the decision-making process and performance management for fleet operations.
- Transports vehicles to repair shops and other designated locations as necessary.
- Assists with handling insurance claim processing and files.
- Obtains information required upon vehicle accidents.
- Manages driver information required to operate vehicles, and monitors all required driver training.
- Maintains liaison with administrative personnel in other divisions to facilitate efficient operation of the Fleet section.
- Assists Trades Inspection division by answering phones, responding to customer inquiries regarding inspection requests, permit statuses, and inspection processes as needed.
- Serves as liaison between customers and Trades Inspectors to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of issues as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of professional experience in an administrative, financial, technical, or related field.
Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education (1:1 Ratio).
