Sales and Use Tax Compliance - Reviewer - Contractor

Overview

We currently have a contract Notice Reviewer opportunity on our Sales & Use Tax team. This role will review sales and use tax compliance notices and support the preparation of monthly sales tax returns. This work involves reviewing the notices, determining the legal entity and jurisdictions, and identifying potential issues related to the notices.

• Communicate with various departments of revenue to identify and document the origin of the notification, and prepare response documents to clear notices
• Coordinate and collaborate with the client teams to maintain records, pull supporting documents, and resolve issues
• Document results and update the notice log tracker with thorough detail and action-steps
• There will be required all-day training in our Irvine, CA or Nashville, TN EY offices, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday. After this initial training in-office, the work can then be done remotely
• The role will be 15-20 remote hours per week during the school year, with opportunity for additional hours during the summer

• Currently attending a 4-year college, pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance with a desire to work in public accounting
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and quick turnaround times, while maintaining attention-to-detail
• Ability to attend in-person interview and training at EY Irvine, CA or Nashville EDGE, TN office

This role is remote, but candidates will have to go to the office to interview and two days of training. This position pays $22.00 per hour for all contractors, this rate is fixed and non-negotiable.
