Tennessee State University invites applications for the position of Campus
-Access
and Parking Services. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and coordination of the university's s control systems and parking operations. This role ensures campus safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance by overseeing production, access permissions, parking pass systems, enforcement support, and related technologies. The coordinator serves as the point of contact for s and parking support personnel, manages integrated software systems (e.g., Banner, Transact, T2), and collaborates with campus departments to maintain high service standards for students, employees, and visitors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Access Control and Identification Management:
* Oversee the daily operations of the campus system, including card issuance, door access permissions, and user data management.
* Ensure proper system integration with university platforms including Banner (student information system), Transact (payment/commerce system), and security management tools.
* Maintain and configure building access levels based on university roles, events, and operational needs.
* Ensure data privacy and security in accordance with FERPA, Title IV, and other applicable regulations.
* Generate analytical reports on access system usage, performance, and incidents to support strategic decision-making.
* Lead and train support staff in card production, system troubleshooting, and customer service delivery.
* Continuously assess and implement enhancements to improve user experience and security.
Parking Services Coordination
* Serve as the central coordinator for parking officer attendance (callouts, tardiness), communicating updates daily to the Director or Assistant Director.
* Process and respond to digital parking pass requests for main campus and Avon Williams campus.
* Maintain citation records, generate departmental reports, and support enforcement documentation.
* Coordinate the preparation of biweekly payroll timesheets for parking personnel and submit for director-level review.
* Oversee parking software systems (e.g., T2), maintain operational knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and produce communication materials as needed.
* Ensure professional and timely written and oral communication with students, faculty, staff, and external constituents.
* Manage supply procurement, inventory control, and related administrative functions.
Other Duties:
* Support the Parking Services team with clerical tasks, signage updates, and policy dissemination.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
* Ability to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and mandatory university events.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
* Ability to handle sensitive situations calmly and effectively.
* Minimum 1-3 years of experience in access control systems and/or parking operations, preferably in a higher education setting.
* Proficiency in system integration and administration using platforms such as Banner, Transact, and T2.
* Strong knowledge of FERPA and other data privacy and compliance regulations.
